The history of jazz and the story of Chicken Bone Beach are deeply intertwined, which is why I speak to both in my writings. It was the music, not only in Atlantic City but across the country that caused races to socialize and leave their ideology about segregation behind. This very brief footage about the history of jazz gives a glimpse into it's early beginnings, going back to the 1700's when Europeans brought Africans to America and enslaved them. It is from these roots that we now can appreciate early spirituals, hip-hop, gospel, R&B and jazz. What an evolution. - CWB
